The Oxnard Police Activities League (PAL) is a city-wide, after-school crime prevention program designed to build positive relationships between youth, police officers and the community. PAL offers free programs for youth ages 7 to 18 and a low-cost soccer league for youth ages 3 to 19. PAL's mission is to divert youth away from gangs and other criminal activity by providing a wide variety of positive alternatives under the care and supervision of trained police officers, recreation staff and community volunteers.


I have been working with PAL, as a mentor, for the last six months and have seen first hand the amazing programs they are providing for the youth in our community. This organizations is focused on not only being a safe place for kids to hang out but helping this kids become leaders in the community. They offer sports programs at little or no cost, dances, and other events for youth. I decided a long time ago, if I was ever going to go to jail it would be for a really good reason and this program is a great reason.
